Xiaomi may be looking to enter the “action camera” market currently dominated by GoPro.According to this story at GizChina, the fast-growing handset maker may join HTC and launch such device in the near future.It is said that Xiaomi is teaming up with Shanghai-based Ant Technology to have its action camera in stores by the end of this year.No details are known yet but knowing Xiaomi, we expect to get an affordable product with great specs and amazing value for money.

Xiaomi may be working on another tablet, if we could take a listing at GFXBench database for anything.Said benchmark site has recently been used to test a still unannounced Xiaomi-made device that apparently comes with Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, Adreno 306 graphics, and a 9.2-inch 1280×720 pixels screen.At this stage, however, we are still clueless whether this mysterious Xiaomi tablet will ever launch, and if that happens, where it will be sold.

According to a report from early this week, Xiaomi is in talks with suppliers and is looking for 50,000 of sapphire displays to be used on a limited edition high-end handset.Chances are this will be some special version of the current flagship, Mi4.Despite rocking the super-sturdy display, this is a mid-range phone with a 4.5-inch 720p HD screen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC.Other devices boasting sapphire glass displays are mostly out of reach for regular users, and include products by luxury phone makers like Vertu and Gresso.

Xiaomi has unveiled the latest version of its MIUI platform that looks better than ever, sporting the ever-trendy flat interface.The company says MIUI version 6 is all about the (new) look that feels more modern and somewhat reminiscent of Android KitKat and iOS 7. Xiaomi released an iPad killer this morning, the MiPad.The MiPad is the first tablet to take advantage of NVIDIA’s Tegra K1 processor, which packs a quad-core 2.2GHz Cortex A15 CPU and a GPU with 192 CUDA cores.Basically, a PC packed into a tablet, and an affordable one at that. The Chinese firm will sell Hongmi 2 / Redmi 2 device under the name of Redmi Note.The official launch date is set at March 19th when interested users will be able to pre-order it through Tencent’s Qzone app, which got the exclusive for the phablet’s debut sale.Those living outside of China can join the fun (pre-order) through third-party retailers like Xiaomi World, which is asking for a $5 commitment that will later be deducted from the phone’s price.
