The new Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 has been approved by the FCC some days ago. Don't get too excited though, as that is the European / Asian version. Why? We can't really tell what customers they are targeting with this handset in the U.S., but hopefully the X2 with AT&T / T-Mobile supported 3G bands is on it's way.

According to the last week's report at Mobile Crunch, the upcoming Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 Rachel will make its debut as the company’s first Android smartphone in January 2010. Keep in mind though that this info is pure speculation, so we suggest you to wait for the official word.

As for the technical side, the X3's known specs include:

British retailer eXpansys UK has unveiled the release date for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2. The product page lists the device as scheduled for arrival on January 11th, 2010 with a ridiculously high price tag of £604.99 ($1,010 USD) for an unlocked version. Such a price could neutralize all of its chanses for success, but it will surely drop prior to the official launch.

To tell you the truth, we're actually more interested in the eventual Android-powered XPERIA X3.

This is the stylish Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness, formerly known as Kiki. The phone has been announced recently, mostly in the form of press shots, but there is no available tech info about it yet. What we can tell now with certainty is that the phone will be officially launched this November "through selected retail distribution channels in key cities around the world".

SEMC blog has recently reported that the Sony Ericsson Xperia 2 will be officially announced next week at an upcoming Sony Ericsson press event.

Windows Mobile fans rejoice! First the HTC Touch Pro2, then the forthcoming Samsung Omnia II, and now Sony Ericsson Xperia X2. Things couldn't get any better.

Today Expansys has revealed the specifications of the upcoming Android-based Sony Ericsson Rachael, which will apparently be launched under the Xperia brand as the Xperia X3. Nice! Here's the full list of specs:

Danish site mobil.nu got its hands on some engineering drawings that depict the future Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 in a detailed manner. The handset looks exactly like the one seen on the previous leaked shots, so there's nothing special about these images. But any piece of info is always welcome here.
