According to rumors the much awaited Google phone, or Gphone, will be launched sometime in the coming weeks. The company is now negotiating with India's leading mobile phone carriers Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and Bharat Sanchar Nigam. It looks like Google plans to launch the handset simultaneously in the U.S. and Europe. For that occasion the company has prepared around $8 billion.
So far, Google's officials abstain from making any comments on rumors and speculations. But something is surely happening, and we'll find that out quite soon. It would be interesting to see Gphone compete with the iPhone. In order to succeed in this affair, Google will just have to offer customers an affordable Internet-friendly handset, as it is already popular.
