LG’s solid G Pad 8.3 is jumping from Jelly Bean to KitKat on Verizon.

The device is available via Big Red for $199.99 with two-year contracts, $299.99 outright, or $14.99 a month as part of an Edge installment program.

Not bad for a quad-core slab with an anorexic 8.3 mm waist, 338-gram weight, 2 GB RAM, 5 megapixel rear camera with autofocus and microSD support.

As for the software enhancements Android 4.4 brings to the low-cost champ, they’re detailed at this link here and include, among others, multi-user mode, immersive mode, wireless printing features and, yes, LG’s own special Knock Code security tweak.
