The cryptic Motorola XT1096 is more than likely a Verizon-bound version of Moto X’s sequel, aka the X+1.
The XT1097 variation brings large-scale performance improvements. The upgrades will be adopted by the XT1096 and all other carrier or region-specific X+1 models.
Assuming data supplied by benchmarking authority Geekbench is correct, the XT1097 packs standard, Snapdragon 801 processing power instead of a custom-made, dubious “X8” solution. It is a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5 GHz, paired with Adreno 330 graphics, and 2 GB RAM for buttery smooth multitasking.
Android 4.4.4 KitKat is found underneath it all on the software front, although an Android L update is definitely in the cards either ahead of the commercial release or soon after.
