The Samsung Galaxy Alpha, will be available for pre-order in the U.K. starting on August 28th.
The "premium" handset is designed to grab sales from the Apple iPhone 6, which is also expected to offer a 4.7 inch display. The resolution on the Samsung model is 720 x 1280, which works out to a 312ppi pixel density.
The Galaxy Alpha is powered by an octa-core Exynos 5430 CPU, with the ARM Mali T-628 GPU crunching graphics. It also features 2GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. Of that amount, 25GB is available to the user.
There is no microSD slot available for additional memory. Rear and front-facing cameras weigh in at 12MP and 2.1MP, respectively, and a relatively modest 1860mAh battery powers the handset. Android 4.4.4 is pre-installed out of the box.
