Canadian wireless carrier Rogers has begun accepting pre-orders for the upcoming BlackBerry Classic smartphone. The Classic became available through pre-order just recently in the United States and the United Kingdom, and now orders are expanding further.
The Classic is another addition to BlackBerry’s line of smartphones that look and act much like its original smartphones did. Internally, there are few differences between the Classic and the Q10, but the former includes the same type of menu buttons seen with older BlackBerry devices.
On the Rogers website where pre-orders are now being taken, the main selling points promoted by Rogers are the Classic’s long battery life and its navigation options. The Classic puts the latest BlackBerry OS together with a physical keyboard and a square touchscreen. That combination makes for an interesting device, though BlackBerry is not heavily promoting the phone far ahead of its release next month.
