Embarq Corp. is going to propose its wireless customers push-to-talk services and parental controls on a Sanyo Corp. 2400 mobile phone.
Embarq having mobile virtual network operator relationship with Sprint Nextel Corp. noted that the PTT service will be opt for business customers as well as for "mobile families." The price for Wireless Press & Talk service will demand an additional $6 per month for wireless voice customers. Subscribers can use the unlimited walkie-talkie feature to contact up to five other Embarq subscribers.
Sanyo 2400 is offered by Embarq for $30 including the activation of a new line of service on a two-year agreement. Having parental controls parents can "manage how and when the phone is used," and have the possibility for selected numbers to always be accessible, even when the phone is locked. Also Embarq announced a service for business allowing phone calls to be transferred between the wide area cellular network and a landline network, or between cellular and Wi-Fi networks.
