As you know, T-Mobile's G1 didn't include the 3.5mm adapter before, and users had to either use only miniUSB headphones, or buy the adapter separately. The adapter itself is cheap (costs just $2), but it takes some time to find and buy one, so why didn't they include it in the box in the first place?
Whatever the cause, it doesnt matter now, as new sets of the G1 phone will have the 3.5mm adapter included.
