It is officially confirmed that hackers in Europe have unlocked the iPhone. The device is now capable of making/receiving calls as well as SMS messages. To hack the handset hacker used only a SIM reader/writer and a blank SIM card.
The patch is called Total Unlock, and has been tested in the Orange UK network. The price is $96.00.
