We expected to see Sony unveiling the Xperia G at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Alas, that hasn’t happened and we’re still waiting for the official announcement of this mid-ranger.
According to previous leaks, the Xperia G will be an affordable handset offering a solid value for the money.
It will be similar to Motorola’s Moto G, packing a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip with Android 330 graphics, 4.8-inch 720p HD screen, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, while Android 4.4.2 KitKat will run the show with Sony’s software singing on top.
Unlike phones from the Xperia Z series, the G won’t have the water- and dust-resistant body, which seems like a reasonable decision to save on production costs.
